Naturalization Ceremony

What an experience! To watch the faces before the Naturalization ceremony reflect anticipation, then turn to elation after "raising their right hand" was awesome! And to compare how some Americans can become so unmindful of what we have been afforded just by virtue of being born in this country, then watch the faces of those who have tenaciously pursued, and just ultimately realized, their desire to become citizens of this country, is something I'll always remember. It was an honor to share Jin's special day, along with every else one in that room. It was special for us as Legionnaires to congratulate and shake the hand of each and every new citizen. And although I'm certain many have been living, working, and raising families in the United States for some time now, and it was a treasure to watch them today, as they smiled holding their certificate and American flag. jill
