What a great opportunity for me as a veteran who served during the first Iraq war to communicate with my friends who are still serving as well as those who are spread out accross the world.When those still in battle want to talk, better yet when those in battle have time to talk, they're ready now. They're going to use the technology available to them in their FOB. Email, blog, text message, cell phone or SAT phone, it doesn't matter if it's available they're going to use it. Having membership in a cyber post gives me an opportunity to keep in touch with my buddies no matter where they're stationed. I am also able to do the work outlined in the four pillars no matter where I am in the world and report that work via my blog. My Cyber Adjutant can then take that information and put it in our Consoldidated Post Report and send that report on to our Department. Working with veterans in the Hospital in Landstahl Germany is just as valuable as working with the veterans here in Indy. Having a School Award program in the American Schools in South Korea is a very effective American Legion program that doesn't need a Post or a building in South Korea it just needs a Legionnaire who is there on the ground to make it happen. Just like a missionairy from your local church. She is out doing the work of your church in all parts of the world and reporting it back to you.I have a lot of friends who don't want to join they're "Dad's American Legion" they feel like they're to young but they want to join a group that represents their generation. I think an American Legion Cyber Post fits that need.
