I'm posting this for Group 1

"We are on our way. Group number one would like to know about each group's resolutions so that we do not duplicate. Clif"

I saw this comment and felt this needed to be on the front... I think this is a great idea to share the resolutions... if you are not sure what Clif is talking about, you will be asked to write a resolution and present that to the class... that is an assignment for a later date... but you are more than welcome to start talking to your group about this and see what kind of resolution you may want to write...

Where is the harm in duplicating a resolution? At the Department and National levels this happens all the time and it is then up to the committee reviewing those resolutions to decide how to merge them together. Two groups having the same resolution means two things:

1) The idea already has support as it has been advocated on multiple fronts.

2) There is a better chance of reaching an "ideal" compromise as you will have more then one slant on the topic to look at. Each resolution may be on the same subject, but provide different supporting evidence, evidence that can then be folded together in the final draft of the resolution to be accepted at the convention.

As long as each group drafts their own version of the resolution and has the data and resolve to support it, there should be no reason for concern that they overlap - at least not in my mind.
